How to schedule the day
Did you book a HALF or FULL day with Stan? If you booked a HALF day, you have 3.5 hours with Stan. This time starts when your first assembly starts. Stan will arrive 30 minutes before the assembly starts to get set up. If you booked a FULL day, Stan will arrive 30 minutes before the students to greet them as they enter the building. Stan will be there until the students are dismissed, high-fiving them as the go! (Half day visits are for Ga schools only. Unless a minimum of three schools in your district books the same week.)
Stan's Presentation
-Stan prefers assembly style presentations but he can do smaller settings. Assembly style allows him to make the most of his time at your school. His presentation last 25- 35 minutes. If you don't have a space large enough to accommodate the entire school you could do a PreK-2 and a 3-5 assembly. The Pre-K-2 assemble will be 25 minutes and 3-5 will be 35 minutes.
-During the assembly, Stan will call a two kids down to play his game to win a prize.(He will ask you to give him the names of two kids from each assembly the day of)
-For the assembly, Stan will need a lane down middle of the floor with 60 inches in width.(see picture below)
Classroom visits or small group meetings
-After Stan's presentation, he wants to meet with as many student as possible. He loves to meet with students for Q&A's in their classrooms.(8-15 mins) If he meets with one class at a time he can stay about 8 minutes and if you can pair two classes together he can stay up to 15 mins. (6-8 classes in an hour) He can meet with individual students in a small group setting who may need some extra encouragement to do the right thing.(5 at a time for 15 mins)
A/V needs (Projector/Mic and PA)
-During Stan's assembly, there must be a projector or smart board so that he can display his book as he read. Stan will also need a cordless microphone as well. Stan brings his laptop which has an HDMI hook up but would rather use a school issued laptop because they're connected to the school's internet.
Can we presale Stan's books?
-Yes, you can! You will need to submit your order forms a minimum of 3 weeks before Stan arrives to your school. This will ensure that Stan can order books in the circumstance his inventory is low. Stan will also have extra books on hand for students and staff that want to purchase day of. Click HERE to download his order form!
When can we start Stan's kindness challenge?
-Stan suggest to start his Be Kind 39 challenge at least a month in advance. This will give the students enough time to complete the 39 acts of kindness before he arrives to earn their "It's cool to be kind" wristband. You can also start the kindness challenge after Stan leaves. Click HERE to download the checklist!
