Young Writers' Challenge

The Young Writers’ Challenge was created to give kids aged 8-17 an opportunity to put their minds to the test and challenge their abilities. Held twice a year, participants will have the chance to write their own books. They can choose to write a picture book or a chapter book, and opt for either fiction or nonfiction.  The use of AI will result in disqualification.

• Registration for the Challenge is now open.
  
• Submissions will be due April 15th, 2027 or September 1st, 2027.
• The next challenge deadline will be April 15th, 2027.

Competitors will receive a writing kit containing everything they need to write their own book, as well as access to the instructional videos.

• Rough Draft Book
• Hardback Book for Final Draft
• Wristband 
• Pencil and Sticker
• Access to Step-By-Step Instructional Videos

Winners will have their books professionally illustrated, printed, and published through the Books For Kids By Kids Publishing Program.
